The fourth local WordCamp Skopje is just around the corner and the buzzing energy is building up! Similarly to previous year, our event will include something for the young minds as well. This time, our bright future leaders will take part in a Hackathon and feel what it really means to be part of the WordPress Community.

The main event will take place on the 19th of October and will include talks from expert speakers, amazing networking opportunities, inspirational sessions, and of course, swags and goodies. The main event will be followed by a Contributor Day, same day but in a different track

What’s New: WordCamp Youth Hackathon Skopje

After a successful WordCamp Kids in October 2023, we decided to take the event for young people to the next level. Last year, the young attendees had the chance to learn about WordPress and the Community through talks, but all of them were based on theory. This year, we want to provide a more hands-on experience with a hackathon where young people will create a website for WordCamp Youth. We hope this will set the basis for their future learning and serve as an inspiration for the global community.

WordCamp Skopje is on the 19^th Of October 2024 and we are looking for excellent speakers… The game is very simple: we give you a stage, you rock it!

Talks and Workshops

WordCamp Skopje is an opportunity to showcase the present and future of WordPress in the Balkans and all over the World, so we want speakers who are experienced and we look forward to well-prepared applications.

Our sessions will be 30 minutes long with addition 10minutes for Q&A with the audience. If you have more then one idea, please submit them all, we will pick the one we like the best. Please send one submission per talk.

The call for speakers is open for presentation in Macedonian and English. We are planning two tracks and one track for workshops.

Volunteers are what make WordCamps happen, and there are no special requirements to volunteer. From lead organizers, to speakers, to people lending a hand at the Happiness Desk; WordCamps around the globe only happen because of volunteers.

WordCamp Skopje needs people who have technical and non-technical backgrounds. Newcomers to WordPress and WordCamps are always welcome. Everybody has different gifts and talents. Maybe you’re interested in helping greet people at the door at registration, emceeing a panel to introduce our speakers, welcoming newcomers at the community table, or one of our many other areas of need. There’s definitely a volunteer role that could use your help.

Let us know that you’d like to jump onboard by completing the application below. If you have a special skill set (such as photography) or have additional needs (such as needing to sit rather than stand) please let us know in the comment section.

We aim to finalize our list of volunteers by the end of 24th September and to give folks their assignments by the end of the 29th of September.

We realize you may wish to adjust your volunteering commitment if you’re unable to attend WCSKP, or you apply to speak at WCSKP and are a selected as a speaker. Regardless, please apply as a volunteer now if you believe you will be attending, and you want to donate your time. We will make final adjustments to your volunteer hours as necessary closer to the event date if your travel plans change, or if you are selected as a speaker.
