This is a chance for you to learn how to contribute from people who are already contributors all in one day!<\/p>\n<p>It really does not matter what your knowledge of WordPress is, nor do you need to be a developer or coder to be involved. There will be plenty of people on hand to help you get started!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>BE PREPARED<\/h3>\n<p>Please make sure that you&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/2018.skopje.wordcamp.org\/register-for-contributor-day\/\">register for the contributor day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the day,&nbsp;make sure you bring your laptop and charger!<\/p>\n<p>If you need any adaptors for your plugs to be converted to UK plug sockets, please don\u2019t forget these too!<\/p>\n<p>If you can, please make sure that you have the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/register.php\">WordPress.org account<\/a><\/li>\n<li>WordPress.org&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/chat\/\">Slack account<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Slack \u2013 either&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.slack.com\/apps\">installed on your machine<\/a>&nbsp;or use the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.slack.com\/messages\">web app<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For some teams, it is also necessary to have a local installation of WordPress. If you do not have a local installation of WordPress, feel free to use&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/meta\/handbook\/about\/get-involved\/setting-up-your-machine\/\">this guide to set one up<\/a>. If not, there will be a set up team on hand to help you out on the day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>THE DIFFERENT WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE<\/h3>\n<p>There are a number of areas where you can make a difference. Contributions to WordPress are split into different teams.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unsure of what team you would like to join, don\u2019t panic. There will be people on the day whom can help you find what team will suit you best.<\/p>\n<p>You can also move from different teams if you find something isn\u2019t to your taste.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about each team please follow the links below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/core\/handbook\/getting-started-at-a-contributor-day\/\">Core<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;You can write code, fix bugs, debate decisions, and help with WordPress development.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/themes\/handbook\/get-involved\/getting-started-at-a-contribution-day\/\">Themes<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>Reviewing Themes sharpens your own Theme development skills. You can help out and join the discussion on the blog.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/polyglots\/\">Polyglots<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>WordPress is used all over the world and in many different languages. If you\u2019re a polyglot, contribute by translating WordPress into your own language.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/community\/handbook\/\">Community<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Keep up with the local community, and organize meetups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/\">AND MORE<\/a>!<\/h4>\n<p>There are many other teams that are not currently listed. Come along and help support people who are finding their feet in our awesome community!<\/p>\n<p>If you are coming to WordCamp London and want to join a team which is not featured here, please&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/2018.skopje.wordcamp.org\/contact\/\">contact us<\/a>&nbsp;and we\u2019ll add it to the list!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re looking for people to lead and support the various contributor groups. Team mentors&nbsp;support the team members on the day. This will include&nbsp;helping them in getting started and any problems that will arise.
